It was six wins, two losses in Wisconsin’s recall election. Considering Wisconsin was the first to unionize state workers in the 1930s, that’s a phenomenal victory for the Tea Party-friendly state legislators who defeated the political machine of President Obama’s Organizing for America. Two dire facts came out of Wisconsin last night: unions spent around $20 million to unseat Republican officeholders, and they counted on the usual low-voter turnout in an off-year election to favor their fevered get-out-the-vote efforts.
Imagine what Democrats must be thinking as they head into the 2012 election.
America’s credit rating was downgraded, markets are plunging, European banks teeter on the brink of collapse, London’s nanny-state waifs take to the streets and burn businesses paying the exorbitant taxes which allow them to claim indefinite unemployment benefits. It’s a small world after all – a world collapsing because state planners, who consider themselves “elite,” are smart but not wise. Disillusionment with the status quo is on the march around the world. Outside of the United States, however, that disenchantment is unfocused, irrational and violent.
Here in America, the people – no helpless waifs – organized a grassroots movement to take control away from the nation’s elite planners and reestablish a “government of the people, by the people, for the people.”
For their efforts, they are labeled “terrorists,” “Hobbits” and “fringe.” Can any reasonable person look at the chaos surrounding them and say nanny-state planners in America and Europe are not engaged in terrorism? The dictionary defines a terrorist as, “A person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism; A person who terrorizes or frightens others.” I don’t know about you, but our state planners scare me half to death.
That makes Washington’s bipartisan big-government cabal the Osama bin Ladens of fiscal bedlam, while Tea Partiers are Seal Team Six … or, in Wisconsin’s case, Seal Team Four.
Go Tea Party!
