Joe Legal vs. Jose Illegal

The following is an article that’s been circulating the internet for a while. Pay it forward . . .

You have two families: “Joe Legal” and “Jose Illegal.” Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California . . .

Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Jose Illegal
also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash “under the table”.

Ready?  Now pay attention . . .

Joe Legal:
$25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000 per week, or $52,000 per year.  Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.

Jose Illegal:
$15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600 per week, or $31,200 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.

Joe Legal
pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600 per month, or $7,200 per year.  Joe Legal now has $24,031.

Jose Illegal
has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics and emergency hospitals at a cost of $0 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.

Joe Legal
makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare.  Joe Legal pays $500 per month for food, or $6,000 per year.  Joe Legal now has $18,031.

Jose Illegal
has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps, WIC and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.

Joe Legal
pays rent of $1,200 per month, or $14,400 per year.  Joe Legal now has $9,631.

Jose Illegal
receives a $500 per month Federal Rent Subsidy.  Jose Illegal pays out that $500 per month, or $6,000 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.

Joe Legal
pays $200 per month, or $2,400 for car insurance. Some of that is uninsured motorist insurance. Joe Legal now has $7,231.

Jose Illegal
says, “We don’t need no stinkin’ insurance!” and still has $31,200.

Joe Legal
has to make his $7,231 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.

Jose Illegal
has to make his $31,200 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month.

Joe Legal
now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Jose Illegal
has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal’s
and Jose Illegal’s children both attend the same elementary school. Joe Legal pays for his children’s lunches while Jose Illegal’s children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal’s children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal’s children go home.

Now, when they reach college age, Joe Legal’s kids may not get into a state school and may not qualify for scholarships, grants or other tuition help, even though Joe has been paying for state schools through his taxes, while Jose Illegal’s kids “go to the head of the class” because they are a minority.

Joe Legal
and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

You get the picture?

Who’s standing up for America and Americans? Don’t vote for politicians that support illegal aliens!

…you missed the part where you need to have a Social Security number to receive Food Stamps.
…and the part where you need to be a citizen or legal resident to receive a Federal Housing Subsidy
…and the part where a student has to prove that their parent is a legal resident or citizen to receive in state benefits for College.

    So close!

Since when? All the illegals have to do is contact casa md and they push all of the benefits through for them! omalley, the obama clone, has called them the new Americans nuff said! The eligibility requirements you are listing are for American citizens who apply! Dont try to twist this into what the communist liberal wants us to beleive!

What the hell does 'contact casa md and they push all of the benefits through for them' even mean? Stop making shit up. It's a FACT that illegal immigrants are not eligible for welfare benefits. If they manage to steal someones identify to get benefits that is a case against fraud and corruption, NOT a case against illegal immigrations, and I can assure you that this practice is not common or widespread. If you insist on claiming it is, PROVE IT.

Also, I'd like to point out that the math in this article is incorrect. Only an idiot would listen to someone who can't even subtract 30% from 52,000.

Want proof? All it takes is search on youtube.com. Here I’ll help you out go here to see how Illegal Aliens are Collecting WIC Vouchers in Georgia:
For some reason I’m sure that you will not accept this because you would rather spread liberal propaganda.

They do qualify for all those benifits if 1 of their many children were born in the US.

In Maryland at least $1.6 bil per year somehow goes to illegal aliens. Additionally our legislature and governor give casa de Maryland, a criminal organization that protects illegals, several million a year. As a santuary state, which is contraury to fedral law and makes the governor a criminal, our state government does more for illegals in this state than for its citizens. The only thing the governor does for the citizens is increase our taxes so he can afford more voting illegals.

I agree! I'm not saying I disagree with the writer's agenda… but this article's content is completely flawed.

Hey Dick, ever hear of fake ID? You’re either totally ignorant or intellectually dishonest like most liberals. Illegals are collecting these benefits using 2-3 different fraudulent names in some instances under the same household so multiply the figure used in the article by 2 or 3 and you’ll see why they’re living in nicer homes than you are, driving better cars than you are, wearing nicer clothes than you are, get it? No, probably not because you’re most likely a clueless bottom feeder like the leeches you defend.

At beginning of this school year we enrolled our middle child into pre-k. while sitting at the house filling out the necessary paper, when it came to the part of “free lunch” at the bottom next to where you sign was a check block and next to it was “I do not have SSN or work visa #”.
so if they do not need any to those to receive that subsidy, what make you think they will need it for any of the other benefits? furthermore I have seen some of these same parents at the store paying for stuff with EBT cards and cant speak a lick of English, hell the school has to have translator at the school.

what you have done Richard is prove that you and the rest of your leftwing nut jobs are “So Close” to pushing the middle man into the poor house. please quit being a mushroom and open your eyes.

      yours truly,
      The Middle Class

So, the moral of this story is, if you are paying taxes and doing things above the table, you are an ignorant chump. Paying taxes only supports the government. No one should pay taxes to help make this government collapse.

I am Hispanic and take no offense to this because it somewhat has some truth to it. My husband makes 45,000 thousand dollars annually and gets deducted a total of about 7 thousand dollars!! We don't qualify for food stamp nor Medicaid for my little girl. We are stuck paying $600 a month for my daughters and I health insurance. I go to school and a head start program is not offered to my child because of our income. So, we are stuck paying $500 for my daughters head start program!! We get offered no assistance what so ever, however, I know many Hispanic women with two to three kids getting $500 dollars of food stamps , full Medicaid coverage for her kids and a fully paid head start program for their three kids!! Meanwhile, their husbands work at the same job my husband does, only thing is they don't use their real names so their wives don't declare their income!!! Obama needs to fix this problem that the middle class is now the poor and the "poor" are living stress free and debt free!!!

If you do not believe that illegals get federal or state aid, via the taxpayers, you are an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously you haven't kept up with states like California, which gives benefits to illegals.

They're not idiots, they're just intellectually dishonest hypocrites. They know exactly what's going on but refuse to admit it and everyone knows!!

You list a scenario that has an off-the-grid worker receiving on-the-grid benefits. Something seems off with that. This isn't to say that illegals and other don't get government money through some channels, but the tally you list is probably way off.

States like California give benefits to illegals.

You missed the neighbor across the street with 5 kids… Joe Welfare. His family gets all for free and more and he don’t even have to work cause he is claiming a disability.

Add back the 30% you took off in taxes. Joe legal will actual owe $0 in taxes or receive a refund if he qualifies for the additional child tax credit. This is flawed from the jump. Also, there is a glaring mathematical error in the rent paragraph for Joe legal. How can I take you seriously if you can even subtract? There are many illogical ideas in this article. Illegals won't call the police or visit a legit doctor or dentist for fear of deportation. Why can't joe legal's come home after school? If the household income is based on $52k, which it obviously is based on the math within the article, then his wife could watch them after school, no?

Even taking out the article's inaccurate points, "Jose" still comes out ahead. Now why would he want to "come out of the shadows" and have to live like the Joe Legals of this country He's better off without amnesty!

Let's just ignore the fact that this is another fear tactic from the far right and not to say that illegals don't take advantage of the US. Why would you blame Jose for looking out for his family but act like the "Job creators" (I like using oxymoron's) are so innocent. Not to mention it must be nice to feed a family of 4 on $500.00 a month.
