Source: From official email received from TPP.
Last night Mark Meckler resigned as a National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots.
His resignation follows months of discussions and good-faith differences on how best TPP can serve the Tea Party movement. He felt it necessary to step aside and pursue other endeavors. We extend our best wishes to him. He has done many good things for the movement.
If you would like to see the media coverage of Mark’s departure you can read The Hill , Daily Caller and Politico .
The Tea Party movement involves millions of Americans. No one person or even small groups of people are responsible for the movement’s success and vitality. Tea Party Patriots is successful because a great many people like you who have given so much sweat and toil toward our goals of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets.
The entirety of TPP remains committed to you with all the tools and support you need to extend the movement’s success throughout 2012 and beyond. We intend to expand that support which Tea Party Patriots provides.
In the coming weeks you will see a renewed focus on repealing ObamaCare, reducing Federal over spending, reducing out of control regulation, and crony capitalism.
Working together the movement and Tea Party Patriots will continue to grow stronger and to build an enduring grassroots organization that increases public support for our ideals of fiscal responsibility, limited government, and free markets.
Sincerely,
For Tea Party Patriots,
Debbie Dooley, Jenny Beth Martin, Sally Oljar
National Coordinators

Tea Party Patriots "Hijacked" by GOP – National Coordinator Resigns—

The expenditure of $250,000 of donor money to sponsor the Southern Republican Leadership Conference debate was only one in a long line of expenditures which I have opposed and which I believe are contrary to the obligations we have to be a good tea party steward of donor funds. That $250,000 could have done an enormous amount of good if it had been distributed to local tea parties to help them with their ground games in 2012. Instead, it was a colossal waste, which served to foster the narrative that TPP is a tool of the Republican party, while providing minimal PR value at best. It is clear that I no longer have any viable input on the direction of the organization, either philosophically or in its corporate operations.
