UN Report Praises Gaddafi’s Human Rights Record

The world body that U.S. Progressives believe should mold America’s domestic and foreign policy is more than a little behind in its bureaucratic paper work. The United Nations is set to release a long-awaited report praising the Libyan regime’s deposed and disposed dictator Muammar Gaddafi for his exemplary human rights record. And what, you might ask, was the deciding factor in Gaddafi’s favor? According to the report, it was the Gaddafi regime’s “pioneering experience in the field of wealth distribution and labor rights.”

The UN report adds that “The [communist] Democratic People’s Republic of Korea praised Libya … for its achievements in the protection of human rights, especially in the field of economic and social rights, including income augmentations, social care, a free education system, increased delivery of health-care services, care for people with disabilities, and efforts to empower women …”

Cuba joined the Gaddafi love-fest and “commended” the Libyan dictator for his “firm commitment to providing health care” and “asked about the mechanism for providing care for persons with physical and mental disabilities.”

However, Mexico dampened the UN’s belated celebration by admonishing Libya for its handling of illegal immigrants and recommended Gaddafi “adopt measures aimed at establishing the necessary legal and administrative institutions to guarantee the rights of migrants and asylum seekers, particularly the right to due process and respect for the principle of non-refoulement [deportation].”

This leaves me scratching my head. Why did President Obama join with NATO forces in deposing a world leader whose domestic priorities of forced wealth redistribution and mandated health care resemble his own?

Did he not like the competition?

America equals enslavement to BIG BANKS by way of interest rates. Libya's central bank charged no interest. Free education in Libya, paid for by the people who want to help there country out. Does America have free education?I think not. Free healthcare paid for by the people. NO! 1,000,000 people waving Green flags took to the streets of Libya in support of Gaddhafii when Nato started bombing Libya. Was this shown on mainstream television in America.. i doubt it. Why…You tell me. If the people hated Gadhaffi so much. The truth is subjective. why invade Libya? Two main reasons One: 1oil because Americans drive around in Hummers and can't face the truth, you have no oil. Two: The central bank of Libya wasn't aligned to the world bank . You say you want democracy for the people Tea party but really you just want to support The big Media, Big bankers, Big politicians. Look to Libya as a model of less government and more power to the people. Dig a little deeper
