Barack Obama might very well have just had, the last nail driven in his re-election coffin. Someone posted this article today on my Facebook page. ( http://cnsnews.com/news/article/black-pastors-oppose-gay-marriage-warn-obama-we-will-not-stand-you ) It seems “ according to the author “ of this news story, Barack Obama’s stance on gay marriage has stirred the ire of some 3000 African-American Pastors and their organization.
I can personally guarantee you that being bred, born, raised and religiously educated in the South, this is a very big deal.
Take the Potter House for instance in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Tony Evans has a congregation numbering in the thousands. Do you have any idea how many millions of votes the President just lost if these pastors do end up standing their ground? Dr. Evans is but one, however, this “One” accounts for many thousands of votes. Now combine him with notable televangelist Creflo Dollar who’s church is headquartered in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia with a membership numbering in the tens of thousands and a viewership on television in the hundreds of thousands, and you have a problem if your Barack Obama. My friends, this is but two ministers out of three thousand!
I cannot begin to express to you the gravity of what is happening here! The Old South (for those of you that do not know) is a place where Blue Laws were still in effect as recently as several years ago. These laws prohibited the sale of alcohol, tobacco etc. on Sunday’s. In fact, many retail establishments were not even open on Sunday’s. This was done for the sole purpose of insuring everyone had an opportunity to attend church. I can remember many times when the Pastor would show up at our house and inquire if everything was alright. The meaning here was, “hey, you guys were not at services today, are you sick, angry or just lazy“? The bottom line to this line rant is simple. The “CHURCH” still has a tremendous influence and their pastors have even more in the Southern States.
To cause Barack Obama even more woes. I can all but assure you of this fact. These ministers are only the African-American ministers that have said publicly they will not support the President. You can triple or quadruple that amount of ministers that are not African-American and add that number to the equation.
The bottom line is this America. You cannot win the White House without garnering the majority in the Southern States. At least that is what the experts say. And it now appears that Barack Obama has lost the support of a great many of his base. It is not time to rejoice yet, but the lady is warming up her pipes to sing. We might all owe a great deal to the African-American clergy for Obama’s defeat. I for one am going to find an African-American church on November 11, 2012, attend it and say thank you!

The Potter's House is under the leadership of T.D. Jakes, not Tony Evans who is the senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas.

Tony Evans is not the Pastor of The Potters House. Get your facts right dummy!
