Arizona Republic Opinion: “Vote NO on Prop 204”

Dear Friends,

This morning, the Arizona Republic editorial board strongly recommended that voters reject Prop 204 on November 6th and vote “NO” on this gigantic special interest boondoggle. In their scorning review, the Arizona Republic concluded:

“This measure is bad public policy that takes advantage of the well-placed intentions behind the temporary sales-tax hike of those terrible deficit years. It should come as no surprise that many ardent supporters of the temporary 1-cent-per-dollar sales tax now are urging voters to reject this permanent one.”

The Arizona Republic continued:
“While the intention may be laudable, the likely unintended consequences of Prop. 204, the largest permanent tax increase in state history, are deeply worrisome.”

Early voting begins today. We need your help in getting the word out to defeat this poorly written piece of public policy. Will you please forward this email to 10 of your friends?

Please take the time to read the full Arizona Republic editorial opinion. Please talk to your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers. Tell them Prop 204 was written by special interests, for special interests. Let them know that Prop 204 is pure pork that will give Arizona the second-highest sales tax rate in the nation. In fact, the Tax Foundation just released a report yesterday that shows Arizona already has the highest sales tax burden in the country!

We can do this, but we need your help. Let’s defeat Prop 204 on November 6th and send the message that we need real education reform, not Prop 204.

Thank you.

Chairman – No New Taxes, No on Prop 204
