Democrats call anyone who supports a border wall a racist. Yet, didn’t these same prominent Democrats also once support and even voted to secure a border wall, fence, barrier, or whatever you want to call it? Does that make these same Democrats either hypocrites or reformed racists?
Before reading the quotes of these prominent Democrats, imagine for a moment these words being said by President Trump.
President Bill Clinton during the 1995 State of the Union stated, “all Americans” were right to be “disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering [the United States],” adding that illegal aliens “impose burdens on [U.S.] taxpayers.”
Hillary Clinton, referring to the Secure Fence Act of 2006 stated, “Look, I voted numerous times when I was a senator to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in, and I do think you have to control your borders,” “We need to secure our borders, I’m for it, I voted for it, I believe in it.”
Barack Obama as a senator stated, “The bill before us will certainly do some good,”adding that the Secure Fence Act would provide “better fences and better security” and that it would make headway against “the tide of illegal immigration in this country.”
Then President Obama stated this during the 2013 State of the Union Address, “Real reform means stronger border security.”
Then during the 2014 State of the Union Address Obama stated, “Independent economists say immigration reform will grow our economy and shrink our deficits by almost one trillion dollars in the next two decades.”
Chuck Schumer, current leader of the U.S. Senate stated, “Illegal immigration is wrong, plain and simple,” said Schumer, “When we use phrases like ‘undocumented workers,’ we convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration, which the American people overwhelmingly oppose.” Schumer added, “If you don’t think it’s illegal, you’re not going to say it. I think it is illegal, and wrong, and we have to change it.”
As recently as 2013 Nancy Pelosi referred to border security as a “basic principle,” and urged congress to support legislation that she claimed would secure the U.S. border.”
In 2014, Vice President Joe Biden stated, “We [President Obama and I] felt so strongly, from the day we took office, for the need for immigration reform.”
Biden continued, by criticizing those who choose to enter a foreign country illegally: “Imagine — you say, ‘I got a good idea, let’s gather up everything we have, sell it, give it to some coyotes to take us to a country that doesn’t want us, drop us off in God knows where, we don’t [know] anybody, we leave everything that’s familiar to us. Let’s go, isn’t that going to be a great idea?’ These are horrible decisions these people are making.”
These and other Democrats once supported a wall to prevent the invasion of an estimated million who come to America illegally each year. Now these same Democrats are willing to allow the government to be shut down to prevent President Trump from fulfilling a campaign promise to stop illegal immigration.
Why do people hate politicians? It is because they lie, flip-flop, and tell people what they want to hear. Say what you want about President Trump; but you must agree he is not your typical politician. He has kept his word and he has courage to fight for the promises he made to the American people. He made an oath to protect America and Americans. He knows there is a crisis at the border with an estimated one million people coming here illegally each year. He knows the drug cartels and MS-13 gang members are running drugs, kidnapping for human trafficking, raping women, and committing murders of both American citizens and immigrants attempting to cross the border.
These prominent Democrat leaders are hypocrites and are only pandering for votes rather than protecting both American citizens and even illegal immigrants.
